In these days war is such a familiar word to us.so I think it's important to be politically aware especially given the challenges we are facing today. Let's talk about why countries like Iran on one hand and the US and Israel on the other are at war with each other. If we look at this based on maps Iran links together huge parts of Asia and the Middle East. Iran has always been a gateway to the East and from the East as a gateway to the West. Israel is only about 1000km from Iran at its closest point.

The reason for the conflict between Iran and the US with Israel is Iran's nuclear program. The US didn't want Iran to have a nuclear program. At the beginning of 2026 Donald Trump aka US President said "A short time ago, the United States military began major combat operations in Iran. Our objective is to defend American people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iran regime." Then the Americans killed the Supreme Leader of Iran (Ayatollah Ali Khamenei). That's basically how it started.

However, many countries are affected by the US-Israel-Iran war even our Sri Lanka. Due to the ongoing war situation disruptions to essential supplies like fuel and gas have caused  hardships within our country. My hope and prayer are that all of this will soon come to an end and that peace will be restored to the world .
